Alvio Barrios is Senior Vice President of Customer Experience Future Technology & Investments. In this role he’s defining and driving strategy across the entire Customer Experience business, which annually represents $13.5B globally. Focused on innovation and simplicity, the root of any strategy will be a high-value pathway to digital transformation for both customers and partners. He is also responsible for strategic initiatives to accelerate the business.

During his tenure at Cisco, Alvio has led Customer Success and Professional Services teams globally with more than 5,000 employees and P&L responsibility. Most recently he led the team for Cisco’s services portfolio and go-to-market activities to grow its digital platform and services offers by more than $400M and transform the services partner ecosystem.

Alvio has a track record of leading high-performance teams in executive management roles at some of the world’s leading telecommunications and networking companies. In his more than 30-year career in technology, his focus has been on transforming organizations to achieve significant growth, driving innovation while effectively managing profitability and developing high-performing teams.

Alvio joined Cisco from Juniper Networks where he was responsible for the company’s Cloud transformation and growth in advanced solutions, and also led the Enterprise, Commercial, and Partner Organizations globally. Prior to Juniper, he held senior positions at Nortel Networks, Ciena, and Bellsouth.

Alvio’s people-first leadership style drives his commitment to creating amazing experiences for customers and to fostering a positive, inclusive corporate culture. Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council (HITEC) recently recognized him among their Top 100 Leaders for 2020.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with honors from Florida International University and has completed several executive leadership programs. He also gives his time and energy to support St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Covenant House International.
